Pine Marten

In England Pine Marten’s are very rare, having been the victim of habitat destruction and hunting, so much so that they had been considered extinct. Thankfully in Scotland pine marten numbers have been recovering.

Pine Martens have a positive impact on the recovery of red squirrel numbers, helping to keep the grey squirrels at bay which allows native red squirrels to move back in.
