Brownie bakery

Brownies in the oven… …literally! We made our own chocolate Brownies, complete with a yellow top, and decorated a toadstool cake. We created a Brownie bakery box with a scone, cookie, cake and brownie.

To make a 32cm x 22cm tray of brownies:

  • 120g Plain flour

  • 64g Cocoa powder

  • 347g sugar (granulated or caster, depending on desired texture)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 3 large eggs

  • 113g unsalted butter

  • 1/4 cup (50g) vegetable oil

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 170g chocolate chips (dark, milk or white chocolate)

  • Coloured icing blocks to decorate brownie with yellow uniform.

Preheat the oven to 190. Grease your tray. Mix the ingredients in the order listed above. Add and level mix into tray. Bake for around 25 minutes.

The top of the toadstool is made from a red icing disc with white chocolate chip pushed in (spike first).
